Benjamin Alley

Owner & Principal Attorney

Benjamin Alley is the principal attorney for Alley Law. He has represented clients in a wide variety of estate planning, trust administration, probate, and business matters. Benjamin also leads and manages the Alley Law team of attorneys and paralegals in providing high quality services to clients.

Benjamin earned a juris doctor degree and tax certificate from the University of Kansas School of Law. While studying at KU Law, Benjamin was selected to serve on the University of Kansas Law Review and was a member of both the International Law Society and Christian Legal Society. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Benjamin was a proprietor in the restaurant industry and a minister.

Benjamin also has extensive experience working with people of other cultures. Benjamin has lived and taught English in China and can speak Mandarin Chinese. He has also served on staff and as a lay leader in Chinese churches in the United States for over two decades. In addition to experience with Chinese culture, Benjamin has also worked with Africans to rebuild an orphanage in Nairobi, worked with Malaysians to move crocodiles on a nature reserve in Borneo, dug with Israelis on an archaeological excavation near Jerusalem, and led humanitarian trips to both the Himalayas and Jamaica. These experiences have taught Benjamin the flexibility and intercultural finesse to approach situations from different perspectives.

Benjamin, his wife, Anna, and their two children currently reside in Diamond Bar, California.

Angela Chong

Of Counsel

Angela A. Chong specializes in estate planning, probate, and trust administration at Alley Law.  She previously practiced law at the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, and later as general counsel for the Lorain County Child Support Enforcement Agency and Welfare Department.  She established her own general law practice in 2009 and continues to practice in both Ohio and California.  

In 2001, she received a Fulbright scholarship to study music pedagogy at the Kodály Institute in Hungary.  While at Harvard Law School in 2002, Angela co-founded Harvard Law Student Advocates for Human Rights and clerked for the European Roma Rights Center in Budapest.  She has working knowledge of Mandarin, Taiwanese, Spanish, Hungarian, and German. 

Angela has clerked for, sat on the boards of, co-founded, and served as Executive Director of numerous non-profits in Boston, New York, and Ohio.  She was also Visiting Instructor of Politics at Oberlin College.  She enjoys spending time with young people, including her own two toddlers.

Sean Pan

Of Counsel

Sean Pan is an Of Counsel associate with Alley Law, with his practice focusing on estate planning, probate administration, trust administration, and conservatorships at the Los Angeles County office.

In his practice, Sean has helped numerous clients in estate planning by drafting revocable trusts, wills, health care directives, durable powers of attorney, deeds, and business planning documents. Sean has also worked tirelessly alongside with trustees, executors, and conservators by navigating them through the complexities of probate court proceedings.

Sean received his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego.

While at Hastings, Sean had the opportunities to extern for a judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court and to serve as a Research Assistant in Elder Law under the Hastings Medical Legal Partnership for Seniors.

Sharon So

Administrator

Sharon grew up in Hong Kong and obtained her BS in Genetics from the University of California, Davis, and Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining Alley Law, she had professional experience as a health educator, data analyst and financial consultant working in the hospital and health care industry. The communication and data analysis training enable her to be effective at managing the administrative operation and finance functions of the firm.

In her spare time, she enjoys taking her two sons to their sports practices and games with her husband. She likes music, art and is a freelance floral designer for weddings and events. She also loves to travel anywhere there’s a beach and her favorites are Hawaii and Japan. She is fluent in English and Cantonese Chinese.

Pauline Tang

Office Manager

Pauline manages all the operational aspects of the firm. She is fluently bilingual in English and Cantonese Chinese.

Pauline is a certified Suzuki piano teacher, with MA in Music Theory. Prior to joining the firm, she had professional management responsibilities first with the Holy Names College and then the University of Michigan Music School, which included modernizing office operations with structured database and computerized billing, invoicing, and operational logistics. Subsequently, Pauline established her own piano studio with computer management system while teaching the students.

While music continues to be her passion, Pauline enjoys and thrives in a dynamic team environment, organizing tasks and streamlining the processes. Pauline is also active with Chinese Bible Missions Church of Los Angeles, serving as the worship leader and small group leader in both English and Cantonese ministries.
